Bring along your deck chair, blankets and picnic and enjoy one of Shakespeare's beloved plays, this time presented on the screen, from the National Theatre Live series.
The screening is free and the film is rated PG, meaning anyone may attend, but parental guidance for children is recommended.
A ship is wrecked on the rocks. Viola has washed ashore but her twin brother Sebastian is lost. Determined to survive on her own, she steps out to explore a new land.
So begins a whirlwind of mistaken identity and unrequited love. The nearby households of Olivia and Orsino are overrun with passion. Even Olivia's upright housekeeper Malvolia (Tamsin Greig) is swept up in the madness.
Where music is the food of love, and nobody is quite what they seem, anything proves possible.
What the critics have said:
"Tamsin Greig is brilliant " (Evening Standard)
"A knock out. Simon Godwin has pulled off a wowser. Tamsin Greig gives one of the performances of the year." (The Times).
The screening is presented by Shakespeare in the Park Charitable Trust, supported by Speedy Signs.
