Part album tour, part scenic tour, part listening party. Hop on the minibus and let Band Sensations guide you into the twilight.

Hello there, we are Band Sensations, an experimental art glittering band, and we've made an album. Using silent disco technology, we're offering a listening party on a minibus to launch our debut.

The album is called Flames in the trees, come be with me, in reference to the ways we try to hold it together as we watch dystopian futures unfold. The idea of driving up into the land/soundscape to listen through this work is to enter some big spaces for big feelings.

Flames in the trees, come be with me was conceived as a dystopian dance album but has strayed into pop lands, ballad country, spoken ground, and the animal wilderness. Songs about climate change, plums, dogs, plans of the elite to escape to outer space, and howling. Overall it's kind of a comforting mix, perhaps.

We will be your tour guide, introducing then playing the recording through as we drive you, the listener-passenger, on one of Dunedin's many scenic routes. Big skies, sea swells, pastoral roles, remnant forest hanging on. Each scheduled minibus tour takes a different course. You will be invited to swap smartphones for headphones: your presence is required.

Band Sensations is a Wellington-based band, but Dunedin is largely responsible. Two of our members, Amos Mann (double bass, vox, acousmatic, zither) and Creek Waddington (electric kazoo, synths, acousmatic, vox) spent most of their lives in Ōtepoti, and Siân Torrington (vox, piano, keyboard, percussion) had ancestors here who fell out permanently over a fur coat.

Our scenic album tours are timed for the dusky hours because it's the end of days, after all. Capacity in the minibus is very limited (no laps piled high with extra passengers), so although entry is free, bookings are essential.

To get a seat, please email bandsensations@gmail.com indicating your chosen tour time.

We invite you to travel with us.
