For this public talk, Dr Peter Petchey will speak about the history and archaeology of sawmills of Paterson Inlet.
PhD candidate, Brooke Tucker will present about rescue excavations of a site at Whenua Hou which was occupied by Māori as early as the 13th Century, and as recently as the Māori/Sealer occupation of the early 1800s.
Christina Paterson will talk about her work to update archaeological site records on Stewart Island, which has been financially supported by the NZ Archaeological Association.
