What better way to make the most of the first day of 2021 than being trackside at Heavy Trax Central Motor Speedway for an afternoon and evening of adrenaline-pumping, Jandal to the metal holiday action

Just ask Formula 1 legend Jackie Stewart who while watching a sprint car race in the 1970’s commented that… ”It is the last true spectacle left in auto racing.”

Over forty years later, it's likely Sir Jackie would still be blown away by these V8 powered methanol fuelled 800 to 900 horse power 'winged demons' as they roar and snarl, slip and slide on Heavy Trax Hire Central Motor Speedway’s 500 metre clay track. The New Year’s Day race programme includes a good field of speedway’s fastest class competing in round 3 of the Sprint Car King of Cromwell Series. On January 9 they’ll again be scorching the clay in round four of the Sprintcar King of Cromwell.

Further adding to reasons for heading to Cromwell and the community-owned speedway in Sandflat Road is the stockcar class that will be crashing and smashing on January 1 and again on January 9. These heavyweights are custom-built tuff for rough and tumble, and weighing in at 1500 kg with up to 4 litres of motor up front, pack a loud, metal-crunching punch. But don’t worry, drivers are well protected.

Other classes racing at all three meetings include open wheel six-shooters, youth ministocks, productions, super saloons and saloons.

Remember there's EFTPOS at the gate, food stalls, Mr Whippy and for early birds waiting for the gates to open at 2pm there's parking on the natural amphitheatre around the track. There's also plenty of space for spreading out a blanket to enjoy the action. see you there !!
