New Zealand's first lady of the blues returns to Nelson and Tasman for 2 shows only, performing works from her latest album offering a collection of original composition, classic blues, jazz and Celtic soul.

Madame Tragedie the album represents the best of Miller Bells personal contribution to The Christchurch Pop Up Concert Series, a post EQ grass roots production that has been touring Canterbury and the South since 2011 supported by Creative Communities grants.

Heralded as one of NZ's most musical Scottish imports (NZMM July 2003) Isabella (Izzy) Miller Bell Aka Ma Bell wears many hats and guises. She is a multi-faceted performance artist, a folk blues, jazz singer-songwriter and eloquent interpreter of song who has been performing in New Zealand since 1987.

From Europe to Sydney in 1981 and on to New Zealand she has performed locally nationally and internationally and taken her music into our schools and prisons. Ma Bell is the real deal following in the footprints of the great blues artists of the past - a storyteller who has lived the stories told through the songs she sings. This sassy vintage Scot will lift you up to the dizziest heights and cast you down into the darkest of nights with her story of the blues.

Don't miss her she will be accompanied by two of the South's finest Jazz blues players John Bevin on piano and vocals with Mike Kime on upright Bass plus special guests.
