The Ashhurst-Pohangina Club played a vital role in the development of the Awapuni Racing Centre and this race day celebrates their involvement. While racing was once held on the Ashhurst Domain before moving to Awapuni, we continue to recognise the valuable role of the Ashhurst-Pohangina Valley within the racing industry in the Manawatu.
The Club would also like to acknowledge the continued support of Carters who are sponsoring the main race on the day for 20 consecutive years!
General admission is free or upgrades to the Members Stand with a $10.00 member for a day ticket.
A hospitality package is also available in the Silks Lounge for $135.00 per person which includes the following items:
- Reserved seating in the Silks Lounge
- Racebook and pen for each guest
- Hot buffet lunch followed by dessert platter to the table
- A standard beverage package (beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day, from first race until the last race)
- TAB Facilities

Initial race timing schedule is normally available 4 weeks from the event however final timings are not confirmed until the Wednesday of the week of the event.
