Multi-award winning, and previous Tui nominated artists Phil & Lana Doublet have joined forces, after 6 collective solo album releases. Their new album ‘Play Nice’ was released 6th July 2020 -the first collaborative album release for this husband and wife duo.The first single ‘My Old Man No More’ is an up tempo song with attitude about ‘willful revenge’. Now available on all major platforms. This concert highlights their much acknowledged talents and the release of their new album.

Phil is a multi award winning artist/musician and is no stranger to the music scene for just over 3 decades. He has been playing in bands since the tender age of 11, and became a sort after session player all over the world, including recording projects in Europe, U.S.A., Australia and New Zealand.

As a solo performer, Phil has five albums to his credit. His debut about “Stone and Wood” earned him the NCMA Male Country Artist of the Year title in 2014. His second album “Endless Highway” was a finalist for the Recorded Music NZ Best Country Artist of the Year 2017. Phil’s third album “Strength, Love, Music & Light” went to #1 on the IMNZ charts, with two #1 singles “Prayin’ for Rain” and “Suitcase” (co-written with wife, Lana). This album was then also a finalist for the Recorded Music NZ Best Country Artist of the Year 2018 (against wife, Lana).

2019 saw the release of two albums for Phil –“Pieces –The Story So Far”, a collection of Phil’s most requested songs, plus three new tracks, followed by “Three Crows”, a country/blues album that shot to #1 in the iTunes Blues Album charts in New Zealand and Australia in its first week, and entered the USA charts at #33.

2019 saw Phil the recipient of the ICMA Best International Act Award, as well as an inductee into the Australian Southern Cross Music Association, Entertainment Honour Roll.

Recently announced, Phil has been nominated for the 2021 ICMA Most Popular Country Male Artist, Most Popular Country Instrumental and Most Popular Independent Country Album.

Lana has always had a love of music and storytelling, but it wasn’t until she was introduced to the Country Music scene after meeting her husband Phil, that she was able to combine the two.

A multi award winning singer/songwriter, Lana has won a number of awards, including Runner-Up at the MLT Songwriting Awards in Gore 2016, then a Top 10 finalist again in 2017, with two songs, including a co-write with husband Phil. She has also won the NZCMA Songwriter of the Year in 2015, 2016 and again for the hat trick in 2017. Lana’s debut album “Beautiful Human” reached #2 on the NZ Country iTunes charts and was most notably a finalist in the NZ Country Music Awards for Recorded Music NZ Best Country Artist of the Year 2018 (against husband Phil, who was also a finalist).

2020 saw Lana the recipient of the ICMA International Supporter Award, and recently nominated for the 2021 ICMA Most Popular Country Female Artist AND Most Popular Independent Country Album.

Phil & Lana's New Zealand Single Release began when Phil was woken by the muse in the middle of the night, and couldn’t shake the line “My Old Man No More”.

After this duo collaborated, the story took shape and came to life in a fun, up tempo country tune about a wife getting unsuspecting revenge, on her not so honest husband. Phil uses his musical magic on most of the instrumentation, while the couple equally share and compliment the vocals, to bring this song to life. Recorded at 3rd Room Productions, Christchurch (NZ), Mixed by Matt Fell and Mastered by Michael Carpenter, at Love Hz Studios, Leichhardt (AUS).
