Navigate With the Navy

Are you fascinated by the stars? Join NZ Navy navigation experts for a 2 part workshop and discover the basics of navigating by the stars. You'll find out how to use a sextant, pick the stars and discover some interesting facts about the Earth.

In a second session on Maungauika - North Head you'll learn how to use the Earth's meridian to find your position, the importance of time and you may even be able to watch the spin of the Earth with your own eyes!
