Taylor-Jensen is pleased to present a selection of work by local artist Kylie Wardlaw from 14th of February. A Valentines Day opening! Perfect for getting a little something special for your loved one...

Here's Kylie in her own words:
"I love colour, texture and experimenting with mixed media in an expressive way. I like to convey a powerful meaning about my subject matter through a spontaneous, free, painterly and instinctive approach.

I’m inspired by the beauty of nature and the way it can connect us to something beyond ourselves. I enjoy living in a place with lots of countryside and ocean space, appreciating the ever-changing views and climate.

I sometimes work completely instinctively, exploring abstract compositions that include landscape features such as horizon lines, landforms, water, clouds and skies, and sometimes I work from photographic source imagery in a more impressionistic way.

I’ve recently had a landscape chosen for a New Zealand Contemporary Art calendar coming out in 2021. One of my abstract landscapes won the Yellow Pages Arts Scholarship (phone book cover) in 2003. I also won the Oil/Acrylic prize at the Manawatu Art Awards in 2001.

I have exhibited locally in Palmerston North, Feilding, Foxton Beach and Wellington and further afield in Sydney. My work is held in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, America and Canada.
This year I’m completing a Diploma in Art and Creativity Level 6 with the Learning Connexion."

The show opens at 5pm Feb 14 with refreshments, the public is warmly invited.
