The Journal of Divergence is our Mad, Divergent and Neurodivergent seminar. This seminar series brings together a collection of speakers with lived experience of divergence to share their knowledge on a variety of topics that affect our communities.

The theme for this year’s Journal is Unboxed Lives. Understanding what it means to not fit the box and then coming to terms with this is a challenge. Questioning whether it matters if we are typical or not, is an important part of the process of moving to a place of not just, but to that of being able to celebrate our difference, and what it brings to the world.

Since our postponement due to Covid19 we have adjusted our plans for the seminar. We will be holding a one-day event with a variety of speakers present live or via Zoom. All of the people presenting will bring insights from the richness, colour and uniqueness that our divergent lives bring to our world. From mad activists, to professionals who are working to see things in different ways, to humans choosing to live authentically, accepting their unique colour and the needs this brings, The Journal of Divergence will be an opportunity to start looking at the world and who we are in fresh new ways.

Confirmed speakers:
Danielle Whitburn
Gina Giordani
Kelly Ngaronoa and Renee Barclay
Kelly Pope and Aland Fish
Karen from Kurow
Lisa Archibald
Rachel and Danny Kittner
And feedback from the Divergence Youth Forum.

A light morning tea and lunch will be provided, and this will provide an opportunity for people to connect.
