Get set for this entertaining family concert featuring thrilling, popular, and spooky symphonic Halloween favourites. Bring the kids or grandkids in their scariest costume or come dressed as you are to enjoy this chilling event. There will be a prize for best dressed on the day!
Our Halloween concert will feature an array of eerie, mysterious, and spine-tingling orchestral works: Mussorgsky’s justly famous 'Night on Bald Mountain', the bone-rattling 'Fossils' and hair-raising 'Danse Macabre', both by Saint-Saens, as well as music from popular spooky films such as 'The Addams Family', 'Ghostbusters', 'Monster Mash' and 'Star Wars'.
Adding a touch of magic- with some tricks 'up his sleeve' - will be Jonathan Usher, one of New Zealand's most skilled magicians. Helping to hold the show together will be NZ Assistant Conductor Vincent Hardaker, as well as leading NZ playwright Dave Armstrong as MC.
