Seaweek - Family Event Beach Clean-up

Shakespear Open Sanctuary is surrounded by the sea. We have three beautiful beaches plus a variety of coastal birds and marine life. For Seaweek SOSSI would like to provide an opportunity for families to participate in volunteering for the Sanctuary. There’s also a bit of fun thrown in for the children.

Here’s what we’ll do on the day….
- Care for our coastal environment by having a beach clean-up
- Discover sea creatures in Shakespear’s rock pools
- Learn why rubbish is bad for the ocean and what we can do to help
- Spot some of our local wildlife
- Children can gain a Seaweek certificate for making a difference

This is a family event so parents/caregivers must stay and supervise their children at all times

Where: Meet at Te Haruhi Bay by the old Ranger’s Office at Shakespear Regional Park.
What to wear: sturdy shoes, sunhat, sunblock, dress for the weather
