This event, organised by the Kapiti Branch NZ Camellia Society, showcases the wonderful camellias grown on the Kapiti Coast. Anyone (members and non-members) can enter blooms on Friday 16th from 3pm to 7pm for judging next morning. Just bring your blooms along with one or two leaves from the same plant and someone will help you set them up.
The show opens to the public at 12 noon on Saturday with a sales table laden with plants and produce, and lovely raffles.
This year the Show includes a Photography Competition for School Age Children (separate categories for 5-10yr olds and 11-16yr olds). The requirement is for a coloured photograph of one or more camellia flowers (up to A5 (8x6 inches)).
The flowers don't have to be on a tree or in a vase - there is scope to be creative! Bring the photo(s) into the venue between 3pm and 7pm on August 16th with name and contact details on the back and they will be judged on Saturday morning.
All prizes presented at 3pm and raffle drawn at 3.15pm. Hope to see you there!
