Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) and Auckland Council's Million Trees programme would love you to join us at one of our community planting days at Atiu Creek Regional Park on the Kaipara Harbour.

This event is part of Conservation Week 2019.

On Wednesday 18th and Sunday 22nd September, we will be planting natives trees and shrubs followed by a sausage sizzle. They promise to be fun days out and a great opportunity to see this stunning park and give back to your local environment. Join us for one or both days.

Atiu Creek was officially opened to the public as a regional park in April 2008 and has extensive harbour frontage with large tracts of native forest supporting a range of flora and fauna. In addition to 450ha of rolling grassed land, the park contains a number of significant areas of kanuka, totara, kauri and mature pohutakawa forest and wetlands in the gullies. The park provides habitat for the nationally threatened New Zealand dabchick and brown teal.

CVNZ has a full time presence at Atiu Creek and is committed to protecting and restoring the biodiversity of this stunning park. This winter alone, we will be planting at least 30,000 native trees at this park and we need all the help we can get! For this event, we will provide transportation from Auckland and Albany or you can choose to meet us on site. Bookings are essential as spots are limited.
