Written by: Rob Smith and Andrew MackIntosh
Directed by: Garry Thomas
Awesome Family Fun - not to be missed!
Opening on Tuesday 8 July as part of Kidsfest, “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs” is 90 minutes of pure fun for the young and young at heart as the evil Queen plots Snow White’s demise, following the traditional story - only to be thwarted by the intervention of seven biscuit mining dwarfs.
With a few ‘kiwi – ‘sms” this familiar tale, directed by Garry Thomas, is another in Riccarton Players popular Kidsfest productions. Thomas is excited at bringing this familiar fairy tale to the Riccarton stage. “There’s a lot of fun and adventure in this play, and children and adults are guaranteed of a great time,” says Thomas. “The play guarantees maximum entertainment for the whole family.” This production will be one of the highlights of this year's Kidsfest.
“Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs” - adapted by local playwrights Rob Smith and Andrew MackIntosh, both no strangers to what is and what isn’t popular with children of today - has ‘dwarfs’ of no fixed abode collected from around Christchurch – and what characters they have depicted – drawing from experience of raising children themselves, this pair have concocted a tale which wends its way cleverly to its known conclusion by the clever use of observation.
