We’re galloping into the Chinese New Year Festival, celebrating the Year of the Horse! We can’t wait to get start horsing around at our new venue for 2014 – the Michael Fowler Centre.
We’re just moving around the corner, and it might sound dramatic, but everything will proceed as usual with aromatic and delicious food stalls, spectacular entertainment, Chinese brush painting, bouncy castle, ponies, and a colourful and drum-filled street parade through the Capital’s streets.
The Festival will be held over the weekend of 1-2 February 2014 and will include its iconic events such as the ‘New Clothes for the New Year’ fashion show, Festival Day’s Asian Market, and Street Parade.
In keeping with the theme of the Year of the Horse, the Festival is collaborating with the Interislander Summer Festival at Trentham on Monday 20 January 2014, with a Family Fun day that will feature a special ‘Year of the Horse’ activity.
Come and join our free activities and any one or all of our Chinese New Year Festival activities.
