Here's your first ever chance to play football on the Octagon lawn in the heart of Dunedin City!
To mark the return of the Wellington Phoenix to Dunedin for the first time since 2011, the Yellow Fever Supporters Group extends a warm welcome to the public to come along for a unique opportunity to kick a ball around on the upper Octagon lawn.
Dunedin City Mayor Dave Cull will be there to welcome fans and officials from both the Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne Heart, leading up to their Hyundai A-League clash the following day at Forsyth Barr Stadium. Mayor Dave Cull will then kick festivities off on the football field set up for the afternoon.
There will be a chance for the public to win some great prizes from sponsors Sony and Revera, and kids will be excited at the opportunity to meet the new Phoenix Mascot "Nixie" who is flying all the way down from Wellington for the occasion!
There will also be players from Otago United present, and Olly Bowman (football freestyler as seen on "New Zealand's Got Talent") will put on a show and stay around to teach children some of his tricks.
And for the hungry, a sausage sizzle will be running in support of Melchester Junior Football Club.
Entry is free and all are welcome!
