It's all about altitude (TM).
The Backcountry Runner Kaweka Mountain Marathon is a relaunch of the Kaweka Challenge. Three event distances are available, a full mountain marathon of 42.2km; a medium distance of 28kms and a shorter distance of 15kms.
These are all very challenging events requiring a high level of fitness and preparedness.
They are all great fun and present some of Hawke's Bay finest backcountry views.
The events will start from Kuripapango approximately 50kms from Napier on the Napier to Taihape Road.
Registration on 1st Feb - Havelock North
First race starts 06:00 am
Post race brunch and prizegiving 2nd Feb - Havelock North
Entry includes post-event brunch valued at $25
