The Te Houtaewa Challenge has been running for over 21 years, and is one of the most challenging beach races in New Zealand! Located on the 90 Mile Beach, the Te Houtaewa challenge consists of four races; The Ultra Marathon which is 60 km, the Marathon 42 km and both Half Marathon Run and Half Marathon Walk are 21 km long.
There is also a Cycle Race, tickets for the cycles are on Eventfinda also. Busses will be transporting runners/bikers from our designated meeting area at the Kaitaia Town Clock, from there you will be taken to the start of your preferred marathon. After marathon running and cycling are complete, there is an opportunity to explore our Race Day Village which will be packed with the sights, sounds and tastes of the far north!
