We are unique in that we hold an agricultural show in an area that is not particularly ‘rural’, but it is an excellent opportunity to ‘Bring the Country to the City’ and display the rural lifestyle and associated livestock, horticultural and other related activities that do abound in the Bay of Plenty.

The wider Bay of Plenty area has moved away from its ‘rural’ status due to the sub-dividing of the farmland around the city and the incredibly rapid development of this area. It is therefore doubly important that the tradition of ‘Bringing the Country to the City’ continues, so that the city dwellers and their children can experience and participate in the lifestyle and activities associated with rural life.
