The 24th New Zealand Masters Games will be held in Wanganui, New Zealand in February 2013. With 60+ separate sports offering over 500+ different events it has the biggest selection and is the largest multi-sport event in the country!
The only qualification for participation is age, with fun, excitement and camaraderie being the main focus despite gold, silver and bronze medals being up for grabs in each event. Each sport sets its minimum entry age and with some being as low as 20 years old, there is really no excuse not to be a part of this great festival of sport. 9 days and 10 nights of sports and revelry await you in Wanganui, with top-class entertainment arranged every evening at the now 'infamous' Games Village - the heart of the Games.
Taking in over 45 different sporting venues, there is a huge variety of sporting activities to choose from with everything from aerobics and archery through to woodchopping and yachting. Virtually every sport offers both social and competitive grades, so experience is not essential. Why not have a go at something you have never done before?! The intimacy and friendliness of the River City means no matter where you stay you are within 10-15 minutes of every sports venue and with the Games Village centrally located in the city, why not make it your home away from home?
This is your chance to have a great time doing what you love and at the same time soaking up as much relaxation or excitement as you can handle. Make sure you are in Wanganui in the 1st week of February to soak up the unique brand of atmosphere the Masters Games is famous for. Come on, you know you want to!
