Tattoos and Tiara’s taking the pageant world by storm!

Having taken Australia and New Zealand by storm in 2012, The Grand Final of Miss Ink Australia is this Saturday night Dec1 at The Espy Hotel in St Kilda.

Originally starting off in Canberra back in 2009, Miss Ink just finished wrapping up their 2012 Australian and New Zealand tours to 8 sold out shows.

Due to the popularity and high demand of Miss Ink’s tattoo pageants, they will be back for another round of inked mayhem in 2013, on a tour that will see them branch out to every major city in Australia and New Zealand.

This 15-date tour will be their biggest tour to date.

Miss Ink will see tattooed women across Australia and New Zealand take to the stage in three pageantry rounds – daywear, swimwear, formal wear – in the hopes of taking out their state title and making it through to the national final. Competitors are judged by a panel of experts from within the tattoo, fashion, and modelling industries, and are judged based on criteria such as tattoo quantity and quality, outfits, and personality.

Joining the Australian leg of the Miss Ink 2013 will be Melbourne rock group, massive. These long-haired rockers will provide a 60min set at each event while the judges deliberate and select a winner.

Miss Ink has always been a big supporter of Australian charities. Since 2009, Miss Ink has raised thousands of dollars for charities such as SIDS & Kids, and the Breast Cancer Foundation.

In 2013, Miss Ink will continue their charitable efforts with events such as Miss Ink founder, Fallon Nicole, shaving her head as part of the Leukemia Foundation’s ‘World’s Greatest Shave’ onstage at the WA heat in front of over 500 attendees. With over 3000 people attending the Miss Ink 2012 shows, the 2013 tour is set to be even bigger with the addition of heats in Townsville, Darwin, Queenstown, and Auckland.

What the media has to say about Miss Ink:

“Panthers to pin-up girls, the ladies of Miss Ink are walking works of art.” Sarah Keayes, Courier Mail

“If you love some good music, beauty pageants and babes with heaps of tats, then this is definitely the thing for you.” Simone Z, beat.com.au
