IPW New Year's Bash 2013 results:
"Heartless" Alfred Valentine def. Pat Schisk
HAV secured an impressive victory over the up and coming Pat Schisk by hitting the 450 splash and securing the three count. Afterwards, Valentine took the opportunity to strap tape over Justin Decent's eyes - much to the appreciation of the crowd.
Space Mountain (T.J. Rocket and Elias) def. Liger and Jason "The Ace" Moore
Space Mountain acted as a more cohesive unit to get the victory over Liger and Moore, a big double team neckbreaker on the Ace allowing Rocket to make the pinfall. Liger had the last laugh though, striking Rocket with his Stormbreaker Kilikiti bat after the match.
Aaron "A-Class" Henry def. Joel Clementson
A-Class made his return to IPW with a solid win over Clementson, working over the arm for much of the match before earning a submission victory with the Tap'N'Snap.
Dave O'Connor and Megan-Kate def. Liam Fury and Evie
Despite having the crowd firmly in their corner, Fury and Evie lost this huge mixed tag match after O'Connor made a blind tag on Megan-Kate and hit Fury with the O'Connor cutter for the three.
Britenay def. Olivia Shaw
An unfamiliar face at ringside made the difference in this match, as an accomplice of Britenay's knocked Shaw off the top rope and gave Britenay an opening to hit the Extreme Makeover and take the win. Afterwards, Antonio emerged to once again declare his love for Olivia, something which James Shaw didn't take too kindly to. After a short argument, a match was made between the two with the stipulation that Antonio would get a date with Olivia should he defeat James Shaw.
Antonio def. James Shaw
Right Time Riot - who had seemingly just dragged himself away from an Australia Day BBQ to attend IPW New Year's Bash - helped his client to victory by tossing vinegar in Shaw's eyes early in the match. Shaw never really recovered from that, and Antonio eventually used a low blow and a violent neckbreaker to steal the win.
IPW NZ Tag Team Championships:
TnT (c) def. Link and Pirate Burns
TnT successfully retained their titles in their first official defence, after Brother T knocked out Link with his newly won IPW NZ Tag Team Championship.
IPW NZ Heavyweight Championship:
Kingi (c) def. "The Deal" Dal Knox
Kingi continued 2013 as he ended 2012 - as champion - after months of frustration bubbled over and Dave O'Connor finally turned on his former partner.
