Chocolate 101: This two-day class is a great introduction to chocolate making. In this class, we teach a large number of techniques around molds, dipping, transfer sheets, piping, using different recipes, and using a variety of chocolate making equipment. This is a hands-on class where you learn the different techniques through making the recipes in groups.
With the skills gained from this class, you should be able to make chocolates of a high enough quality to sell in stores, markets, and to give to family and friends. This class is intensive and intended for those who are thinking about (or are in) commercial production.
Light lunch included in price.
And remember, everything you make - you take! All products made by the class are divided up among the participants!
Our chocolate classes are designed & run by our Executive Chocolatier, which will give you the skills and confidence to make great chocolate at home. We will gradually be adding more classes over time, but for now, we want to focus on ensuring we deliver a world class learning experience and really help you understand the principles behind great chocolate. By learning the theory (in a hand’s on way), you will be able to go and create your very own masterpieces - which is much better than learning only how to follow a recipe! We would rather you develop your own recipes from the skills & confidence you gain.
The Kāko Chocolate School is about uncompromising quality - much like our products. You will be learning some of the techniques used by chocolate masters around the world, in our state of the art commercial kitchen. Although we have a world class kitchen, we have ensured that the practical skills you will take away from our school can be easily utilised in most home kitchens.
Our classes run over the weekends, to enable working people and those from out of town to be able to attend.
