The Party Animals, the legendary Corner Hotel music industry band are making their first ever trip to New Zealand.
Known for its outstanding vocal, hot guitar solos and pumping rhythm section The Party Animals held six house records in Melbourne and always played to capacity crowds.
If you love your music played with passion then come along you will not be disappointed.
They don't come much better live than The Party Animals a collection of seasoned musicians who have mastered the art of "Aussie Pub Rock".
The Party Animals were the legendary house band of the Corner Hotel and have a reputation as a kick arse band with outstanding vocals, incredible energy and blistering guitar solos.
The Corner Hotel was then and still remains today one of the most famous music venues of Australia. It was started by Wayne Gale, who also started The Party Animals. The band was formed by Wayne over 25 years ago as a band for industry night on Mondays which could showcase his venue and indulge his passion for music and was a supergroup of his friends who were playing there.
The band ability to be able to play anything and make it their own and this makes them a standout.
This is a powerhouse rock band with outstanding vocals, a rhythm section like a train and blistering guitar solos.
In recent times the band has been touring in Tasmania and New South Wales with Alan Barnes (Jimmy's younger brother).
The lineup is
Wayne Gale: guitar
he has played with Charlie Musselwhite ,Jimmy Witherspoon Lonnie Brooks ,Roy Buchanan, Canned Heat, Fabulous, Spencer Davis, Thunderbirds and the list goes on. Wayne is heavily influenced by Gary Moore, Steve Lukather and was sponsored by Marshall Amps.
Laurie Duffy: vocals, guitar
an outstanding guitar player but also a sensational singer and he has played support on major shows to The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Spencer Davis, Canned Heat. He has held his place proudly in the band for 25 years +.
Andy Persechetti: bass, vocals
a highly respected musician and he has played with many of Australia's top musicians and toured Australia frequently. He also was the opening act solo for John Farnham when he did the Whispering Jack Tour across Australia. Andy is an outstanding guitar player but plays bass in the band and he plays and sings like a demon.
Morry Mathews: vocals and bass
a legend in the Melbourne music scene and was recorded by the same producer as Keith Urban and spent several years playing in America. He was the bass player and vocalist with the members of Mother Goose for many years and did three tours as a member of The Master Apprentices who are an Australian music icon and have won of countless music awards. They do not come much better.
Chris Potter: drums
a highly sort after session drummer and has played in many of Melbourne's top bands .
Murray Hintz: keyboards
a major part of The Party Animals and also played in several very well known Melbourne bands before he moved to New Zealand.
Andy Lutz: lead vocals
another legend in the Melbourne music scene and front man for Gold Chisel a Chisel tribute show which pulls full houses everywhere it plays. Recently they headlined to 23,000 people in Tasmania. Andy also had a very successful AC/DC Tribute band. Andy dropped everything to join the band for the trip to NZ.
