The Tauranga Historic Village will be transformed into a truly multicultural and multilingual Village for the day. This will be a celebration of Race Relations Day, which falls on 21st March, and this year's theme is "My dreams for Aotearoa New Zealand".
Visitors will be able to see dances from all corners of the world, listen to many music genre and try a huge variety of authentic ethnic food.
Most performances will take place on the main stage on the Village Greens, but there will also be performances throughout the Village all day, including sports displays and some interesting activities specially for children.
A great variety of ethnic food stalls, arts and crafts will set up throughout the Village, and many service providers will have their stalls, where any newcomer to our city would be able to find useful information.
Children will be entertained by magicians, pony rides, bouncy castle and other activities. Come for the day to see the World - a day not to be missed.
A great mystery prize funded by ANZ will go to a lucky visitor.
So bring your family, blanket or chair, sun hat and umbrella and come for a day. We are a smoke- and alcohol-free event.
