Cherry Blossom Festival is a traditional Japanese custom of picnicking under a blooming sakura (cherry blossom) tree with family and friends.
Zen Garden, designed and built according to the architecture and gardens in Kyoto in Japan, offers the perfect setting for such an occasion. Hidden away in the idyllic countryside in Whitford in East Auckland, this private, exclusive estate includes hundred year old forests, water features, Japanese gardens, and sweeping elevated views across the landscapes and harbour to Rangitoto Island and the distant city. It’s a place where time stands still while peace and joy fill the air, along with delightful birdsong and the fragrance of exotic gardens.
Date: Sunday 30 September 2012 (Rain/late flowering option -- 7 October 2012)
Time: Gate opens at 11am to give you time to explore the garden and relax over lunch before the musical performances start at 2pm. Gate remains open until 6pm.
