What is the young fathers course?

It is a personal development and mentoring course created for young teenage men who are fathers. The young fathers course has been running since 2009. If you are 24 or younger and you are a teen dad, or a dad-to-be, you are welcome to participate.

What will I learn from this course?
- How I can become the best possible father for my child;
- What my child needs from me;
- What my child’s mother needs from me;
- The confidence and skills I need for parenting, co-parenting and relating to my child's mother;
- How to get to know other young fathers so we can support each other;
- How the community can assist me as a young father.

After attending the Young Fathers Course for 10 weeks, if you wish to continue, you will be invited to attend an ongoing Fathers Meeting Group to stay connected, be involved in dad and child activities and to learn more with other fathers.

How much does it cost and how do I apply to participate in the course?

Each young man on the young fathers course is sponsored by an organisation. The only cost to you is the time it takes to turn up and to complete the course.
