What a day out it will be! As part of the GEON Art Deco Weekend 2012, we have diesel-hauled vintage carriages running to Gisborne. Along the way, disembark for a stretch of your legs at Opoutama beach, then it's back on for the remainder of the journey.
Art Deco clothing recommend.
We suggest you take a picnic on board, but the buffet carriage has some catering options. For $10 you can also order a hangi or salad meal, contact nrbandlec@xtra.co.nz for more details.
