10 days of surfing action at the TSB Bank NZ Surf Festival 2012.
There’ll be competitions waves for groms (kids) to granddads in the expanded TSB Bank New Zealand Surf Festival this Easter school holiday break in Taranaki running from April 6 to 15.
The Festival’s feature competition is the ASP Women’s World Tour surfing event to be held when conditions are at their best between April 11 to 15. Meanwhile there is also an Aerial competition, a MicroGrom event, the New Zealand Women’s Open, and a Masters competition along with off the water happenings such as the Fitzroy Beach Carnival on April 9, a surf film festival, and beach education programmes for children.
The main venue will be New Plymouth’s Fitzroy Beach with back-up arenas such as Back Beach and Arawhata Road on Surf Highway 45 available as alternatives. These surf break options mean that the world’s top 17 women surfers will be again paddling out on Taranaki beaches to put on a spectacular show of performance surfing, as they have done for the last two years in a row.
