* As part of New Performance Festival
By Peter Snow & Frank van de Ven (Amsterdam/Melbourne)

Being both inside and outside the present moment, we find ourselves, one another and the world within shifting relationships which form our experiences. Thought/Action: The Death of Agency traverses through the experiences of living and dying, and how they intersect with the intensities of loss and redemption.

Thought/Action has travelled from Brussels to Amsterdam, Norway to Alice Springs, as well as the French countryside. Part of an ongoing series, Thought/Action: The Death of Agency is a performance in movement and words, thought and action by Amsterdam-based dancer and choreographer Frank van de Ven and Melbourne-based performance maker and writer Peter Snow.

Frank van de Ven is a dancer and director who spent his formative years in Japan working with Min Tanaka and the Maijuku Performance Company. In 1993 he founded ‘Body Weather Amsterdam’ with Katerina Bakatsaki as a platform for training and performance.

Peter Snow is a Melbourne-based theatre artist and professor of Theatre Performance at Monash University. Since studying medicine in Auckland and philosophy and psychology at Oxford, he has worked as a director, writer, performer and theatre-maker on more than 60 professional productions in Europe, Asia and Australia.

“It was moving and beautifully wrought... and memorable.” - Wendy Woodson, Amherst college, USA
