These Four Walls and Decortica - Two of NZ's meanest live acts, hit the road for four shows together in March.

2011 was a good year for These Four Walls - a year in which they toured Australia, supported Disturbed for their three NZ shows, and then completed their own headlining tour in NZ. The band spent the second half of the year working on the follow up album to 2009's Down Falls An Empire.

After 8 weeks on the Gold Coast working with producer Matt Bartlem (Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect) and mix Engineer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, I Am Giant) These Four Walls are now putting the finising touches on their latest album, and are keen to try out some new material, in front of their fans before the album is released later in the year.

Decortica have gained acclaim in NZ and abroad for their 6-track masterpiece 'Love Hotel' which was released in 2010. The band is currently working on a full-length follow up with producer Dave Holmes.

“Accomplished and confident vocalisations secure the overall lusciousness of these pieces and it’s refreshing to hear someone who can actually carve, with the chops required to create cohesion through the entire mood of this release. This extremely polished EP offers plenty to be excited about for fans of Deftones, Isis or just generally solid and sincere metal-edged rock. Decortica are just so easy to slip away into as you listen, with whirling aural-scapes and great slabs of technical proficiency which meld into a considered and precise effort in escapism – which is in keeping with the concept EP’s contextual themes.”
