Anyone can perform in a professional theatre! OnStage is an all-access programme - there is no audition required to be a part of the training programme, and all participants star on stage as part of the chorus. This OnStage programme is based around the production of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The course is open to those aged between 7 and 21, and all skills required to be a part of the show (including singing, dancing, and acting) are taught through the workshops and rehearsals.
Lead roles are auditioned from within the group, and are triple-cast to ensure the maximum amount of opportunity. Cast are grouped by age and ability - ensuring everyone benefits from the training while extending our more experienced performers.
At the end of the course, we put on a full-scale performance of the show at Auckland's Aotea Centre, featuring professional staging, lighting and sound. The season is usually made up of 3 public performances and up to 4 matinees for school audiences, which are ticketed at a highly subsidised educational rate.
Course begins February 11 2012
Performances June 21 - 23 2012
Ages 7 - 21
Rehearsals are mostly Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings for leads.
