Taupo – get ready to sing along with The Yoots!
In 2006 the notorious Hopepa (Joe Lindsay, trombonist for Fat Freddy’s Drop) ceased his outlandish antics for a brief moment and formed his own group, The Yoots!
Celebrating iconic kiwi melodies like ‘E Hine’ and ‘E Papa Waiari’, The Yoots blend calypso-ska and country-soul to create a unique and distinctly Aotearoa sound.
Led by Hopepa alongside his brother Sam and members of Fat Freddy’s, the Black Seeds, Phoenix Foundation and others, The Yoots present a rousing rendition from their recently released album, “Sing Along with The Yoots”.
We’ll provide the songbooks and you get to sing along to all the great old songs we all learnt at school... Tu meke!
