The Accents series is designed to challenge the participating singers to focus on language and meaning: where literature, poetry and interpretation mean as much as beautiful sound. For the audience, Accents is an experience, an exploration of music, poetry and place.
This concert will include performances of works by Mongolian master musician Se Enkhbayar; Ko Matsushita and Ro Ogura (Japan); Dr Francisco Feliciano (Philippines); the celebrated Chinese American composer, Chen yi; Budi Susanto Yohanes (Java) and Pontas Purba (Sumatra); Tae Kyun Ham (Korea); and from India, Vanraj Bhatia and world famous Bollywood composer, A. R. Rahman.
