Henderson Bowls will once again draw together local and international lawn bowlers for the The Trusts New Zealand Open 2012.
Marking its sixth year being held at the Henderson club, this premier event on the Auckland and national bowling calendars will run from Thursday, November 8 until Friday, November 16. Clubs all over Auckland - from Blockhouse Bay to the North Shore - will also lend their support by hosting the qualifying matches from November 08-11.
Once the cream of the bowling crop has been found in the qualifiers, the tension will be ratcheted up several notches in the knockout rounds of the open, until the finals on the last two days of the event (November 15-16). All six finals will be played under the watchful eyes of both an excitable crowd and the Sky TV cameras - who will air the finals at the end of the month.
Already certain to feature some of the finest bowlers in the country, games will be played in singles, pairs and triples disciplines, as the athletes vie for a chance in the finals and a shot at a share of the more than $30,000 total prize pool.
