Showbiz Queenstown and Remarkables Park Town Centre are proud to present the most loved musical of all time. Directed by Bryan Aitken with Musical Direction by Emma Wilson. Ideal for all age groups, The Sound of Music features "My Favourite Things". "Do Re Me", "The Sound of Music" and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" plus many, many more!

Based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of The Trapp Family Singers, and a 1956 German film Die Trapp-Familie, the musical adaptation tells the story of a postulant Maria Rainer, sent by the Mother Abbess of Nonnberg Abbey, to be Governess to seven children, whose mother has died.

Set in 1938 at the time of the German-Austrian Anschluss (annexation), the von Trapp children seek love and reassurance, whilst the adults play out their hopes and desires.

Love, respect, comedy, betrayal, fear, spiritual beliefs and basic human-nature all conspire to create a storyline that at once entrances and moves its audience. Some of the best music written for musical theatre - the nuns’ choruses - feature greatly and strike at the core of humanity.

Tickets can be purchased on line, by free phone, or in person at i-SITE Queenstown or the Queenstown Event Centre.
