An innovative and exciting school holiday programme focussed at kids aged 8-14 years. Rotorua Museum and RAVE (Rotorua Arts Village) combine forces to provide a unique programme exploring arts, costumes, culture and drama. Spread over the two venues over 2 weeks, children will be entertained and taught by arts professionals. Limited numbers ensure 1:8 (teacher:student) ratio.

- Monday 2 July - Henna Tattooing. Gina Wright will be teaching you how to design a tattoo using Indian and Maori influences.
- Tuesday 3 July - Tanabata. Come celebrate Tanabata (Japanese Star Celebration) and try out wish writing, creaste bamboo decorations and have a go on the taiko drums with Kiwi Racco.
- Wednesday 4 July - Fantasy Creatures. Geoffrey Coz will teach you how to customise drawing animals. Add claws, beaks, horns, wings whatever the imagination dreams up. Like White Cloud Worlds at the Museum.
- Thursday 5 July - T-Shirt Design. Alesa Law will get you customising a t-shirt using a whole range of possible techniques. Design it first, then spray a stencil, stitch a flower, paint a skull (bring a plain t-shirt).
- Friday 6 July - Ice and Fire. Develop your Ice&Fire characters, decorate your fire or ice costume, use the swords and crowns made at the Museum and act in a fun scripted movie with Rose.

- Monday 9 July - Stop Motion Animation – Part One. Make your own short film using stop motion techniques, care of Rotorua’s Magma Short Film Festival. Held at Waiariki Polytechnic. You must attend both days.
- Tuesday 10 July - Stop Motion Animation – Part Two. Make your own short film using stop motion techniques, care of Rotorua’s Magma Short Film Festival. Held at Waiariki Polytechnic. You must attend both days.
- Wednesday 11 July - Origami Stars. Discover the art of stars and join artist Jonathon Baxter for a session of origami. Create folded paper stars, ornaments to hang, or a gift for a friend.
- Thursday 12 July - Paint Like Nigel Paints. Explore poetry, canvas & paint with local artist Martyn Evans. Be inspired by the Nigel Brown show at Rotorua Museum. Take home your finished canvas. ($3 extra for this day)
- Friday 13 July - Drama & Dress Up. Val Dyson is back with some drama magic. This time she’s bringing the Shambles Theatre costumes with her. With a morning at the Museum that will have you Bedazzled.

All days run from 9am until 3pm (except Magma Workshops which conclude 3.30pm). Each day will start at the Museum (9am-11am) and finishes at Rotorua Arts Village (11am-3pm) – except Magma Workshops which are held at Waiariki Polytechnic.

This engaging programme is $25 per child per day (plus $3 extra for Paint Like Nigel Paints).
