Hailing from Lyttelton Harbour, The Greyhounds are comprised of four full-time musicians (Clark, Thorpe, Williams, Woolley) who have appeared in prolific NZ folk/country bands (including The Unfaithful Ways and The Eastern), before cutting to the chase and getting serious about simple straight up bluegrass and old time country music.
With three part vocal harmonies and a stripped down four piece band, The Greyhounds are indicative of late 50s Bill Monroe, The Carter Family, and The Stanley Brothers.
The Greyhounds...bet yo ass, we bluegrass.
