15 brass bands, 450 performing musicians, big, loud, passionate, excellence and wow.
Central and Wellington District Brass
Brass Bands each performing a major band work plus a reflective item. If you love big orchestral music or big brass band sounds this you must hear.
Saturday 1st September: 7:30pm – approx 9.30pm
“Most Beautiful Melody Competition”
Ten of the best brass soloists perform.
Concert Chamber, War Memorial Hall
Tickets from Royal Wanganui Opera House $15. Or door sales if available.
Sunday 2nd September: 9am until approx 5pm
Central and Wellington District Brass Bands Competition
Brass bands each performing a 25 minute concert program. If you love light band, light orchestral or pop/rock music then this you must hear, bring the kids, your ticket lasts all day and you can leave and come back later.

Sunday 2nd September 12.15pm
Wanganui Street March, 12 bands will be marching from Maria Place down Wilson Street and into Ridgeway Street. Come and join the major, bring all the kids to watch a lot of bands marching, colour, pomp and marching. Free public event just for the community and supporters of Brass Band.
Sunday 2nd September approximately 5pm – 6pm
Competition results awards prize giving.
