The 2012 Mainland Classic - Art of Touring: CANCELLED

As many will have noticed, there has been a slight name change from previous tours - this is what we see as the future of this event - more relaxed and informative. We want you to feel you have been places and learnt something new while enjoying getting about in your pride and joy!

This five-day, relaxed, organised motoring event runs from Monday to Friday. Starting in Blenheim (top end of the South Island) - on a Sunday evening (Nov 4th) for a pre-tour sign-in, then spending two nights in Blenheim, with Monday taking in local attractions with the likes of the amazing aircraft museum and many of the fabulous local wineries in the Marlborough region to visit. On the Tuesday morning will be the start of touring proper taking in the Marlborough Sounds area before traveling south to the coastal tourist town of Kaikoura to stay two nights. The next day, Wednesday - will be a lay-day and you get to see and do the likes of the Whale Watch trips there or just have a look around this picturesque place. Then the Thursday we are on the move again over beautiful scenic roads all the way to the historic French settlement of Akaroa for a final relaxing evening. The last day is an easy morning before concluding the event at a final function & prize giving on the Friday afternoon.

We plan to put in many of the elements the Mainland Classic is known for - such as fabulous roads, Auto collections, school visits and plenty of socialising & fellowship - all organised for you. The time of year has been selected - the second week of November 2012. The event will be limited to the first forty classic vehicles and eighty people.
