Another exciting programme of classic films selected by Jane Paul of the NZ Film Archive. Jane will be attending the Festival and make a presentation at each screening.
The programme will include a short film “Thames Scenes” from the 1930s by Baden Chapman followed by a wonderfully amusing colour documentary “Springdale Calf Club”. The feature film will be “Rangi’s Catch” starring a young Temuera Morrison and Ian Mune. This is a full colour production and is grand entertainment for young and old.
The Festival has again been organised by film enthusiast Mark Bridgman assisted by Marilyn Dodds of the Coromandel Heritage Trust and Dave Ritchie, the Embassy Cinema Manager. Mark’s father Bert was a pioneer NZ film maker and his biography has recently been published in a new book ‘New Zealand Film”. Each screening will start with a surprise cartoon.
Price: Children $5, Adults $10, Seniors $8
Tickets/bookings: only at the Cinema. A full programme of films and screening times will be on display at the Cinema and on www.thetreasury.org.nz
This event is an official event of Thames Heritage Week.
