This year Thames Heritage Market will join the weekly Saturday Market in Grahamstown to make it one big event celebrating the 2012 Thames Heritage Week.
The stalls that used to be set up in Victoria Park will now line history laden Cochrane Street between the Thames Museum and the Bella Street Pump House (Museum of Technology). With its closeness to the Thames School of Mines and the miniature railway, the location of the market is perfect. The historic mood will flow on from there to the regular stalls and shops of the Thames Market with many stallholders donning costumes from times gone by and special acknowledgements of the occasion at their stalls.
Market visitors can expect numerous stalls selling fine food, arts and craft, additional attractions and activities for children and younger people, and a good range of buskers.
A good opportunity to dress up and join in the historic flavour!
This event is an official event of Thames Heritage Week.
