Techniques of the Italian Masters - Eleanor Wright

This series of three workshops is aimed at teaching the basics taught in the Italian school of painting. All workshops are focused on teaching the student first how to “see”, and then how to “express” that using pencil and charcoal. This series of workshops is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced artists as it covers some technical aspects that are not always covered in NZ art schools.

The ability to communicate mass through light and shade, anatomy, balance, gesture, light effects, finishing, sight size and comparative measurement drawing techniques will be taught. Whether your subject matter is landscape, still life, nature, nudes or portraiture, this course will give you the skills to be able to capture and express your subject matter accurately and with feeling.
