Dylan Horrocks describes Hidden as 'one of the most beautiful books I have ever read'. Praise indeed from the author of the graphic novel Hicksville. New Zealander Mirranda Burton, now living in Melbourne, returns to give us a glimpse into her hidden world of strange eccentric characters and mysterious minds. Reviewers repeatedly talk about this book revealing the 'meaning of art'. For those of us who have a history of seeing the comic as a lesser genre, this is the challenge we need – as the graphic novel is here to stay and has international respect.
Dylan Horrocks will take the stage with Mirranda and tease out some of the gentle humanity and wisdom that is evoked by her characters.
