Sunset Coast Rotary Walk

The Awhitu Peninsula, from Waiuku to The Heads, is an area of outstanding scenic beauty. The Rotary Club of Waiuku Inc. annual fun walk is of approx 5km or 10 km. The walking track will allow a large number of people to enjoy the views and tranquillity, and at the same time, help raise funds for local projects.

The walk will start and finish at 207 Kohekohe-Karioitahi Road, Waiuku, where soft drinks and a sausage sizzle will be provided. The walk is on farm tracks and will cross minor roads. These and the cliff-top (even though fenced and patrolled) are potential hazards. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

Only an hour from Auckland or Hamilton, come and enjoy the peace and quiet of The Peninsula. Bring your lunch or buy an extra sausage (or two). The road is signposted from Waiuku.

Cost includes a free sausage and soft drink. Entries will be accepted at any time by post or on the day.
