Glass artist David Traub is holding his Sunday Introduction to Kiln Glass workshops.

Programme content:
Make a coloured glass tile, two slumped glass bowls and glass brooches.
David will demonstrate the basics of fusing, slumping, using coloured glass pieces, powders and frits and kiln firing.

This one-day experience is intended to give you the ability, knowledge and confidence to experiment with these processes on your own. The workshop is suitable for those with no or little prior glass experience.

For more information or to book a workshop, phone David on 021 113 7970 or email d.traub@infogen.net.nz.

Please feel free to contact David if you'd like to arrange a glass workshop outside of the advertised dates.

About David:
Born and brought up in New York, David Traub gained his Masters degree in London and Stourbridge in England before emigrating to New Zealand in 1995 to head the Glass programmes at Wanganui Polytechnic.

David’s passion for glass has spanned a career that has seen his work exhibited and selected for numerous national and international publications. He’s an expert on the history of contemporary glass; knowledge he enjoys sharing as much in Whanganui as in England when a visiting lecturer for Sotheby’s in London.

David now works from his studio in Whanganui where he continues his love of teaching small workshops. David was the winner of the prestigious Cavalier New Zealand Artists in Glass Award in 2008, and his work is in public and private art collections throughout New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Brazil and Europe.
