The Westport Library is very happy to be presenting once again their Summer Reading Programme. Free to all children between 5 - 13 who are members of the library or have access through their parent or caregiver, the programme focuses on the pleasure of reading and seeks to keep literacy levels high during the long summer break. Each Friday in January participants report in and talk to volunteers and library staff about the books they are reading. They receive a prize each time they report in and at the end of January there will be a party for those completing the programme.

This year the theme is 'Be a legend - Read!'. We are hoping to have a storyteller sharing Maori myths and legends with us half way through the month.
