125 years ago Kate Sheppard formed and took leadership of the franchise and political arm of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. It was also the year that the first Women’s Suffrage Bill to enfranchise women and give them the right to sit in Parliament was introduced (but failed to pass the Committee stage). These actions did eventually lead to NZ being the first country in the world to give women the vote.
Come and join MAD (Music and Theatre) Thames and ZONTA Thames Valley in an evening of dining, songs and skits that celebrate these significant events.
Come dressed in appropriate attire if you can.
Ticket price includes meal; drinks available.
Only 40 places, so don’t delay getting them from the i-site. There are 10 tables of 4, and are not allocated seating.
This event is an official event of Thames Heritage Week.
For tickets, please visit the Thames i-site.
