A 2.5 hour return journey, which departs Gisborne Railway Station and heads out over Gisborne Airport runway, the railway then follows the curve of Poverty Bay, over the Waipaoa river bridge and across the flats to Muriwai. A 30 minute picnic stop at Muriwai before returning to Gisborne.
Enjoy a trip with the family and at the same time show your support for the Napier to Gisborne Railway line (threatened with permanent closure due to major slips in the beach loop area).
